Kria Necklaces

Kria Necklaces

Kria, the jewelry line by Jóhanna Methúsalemsdóttir, is one of our more mystical acquisitions. Inspired by a bird skeleton found on a black lava beach in Iceland, the whole line is a graceful synthesis of natural forms and precious metals. Gold, silver and bronze charms dangle delicately among semiprecious beads, waxed cotton and extra long chains, reminiscent of malas or rosaries. Definitely worth seeing the detail up close in the store or here on our webstore.

Recycled Metal Earrings

Recycled Metal Earrings

We are excited to introduce Erin Considine’s jewelry into the shop. These pieces are from her Immrama collection, which were named after a series of old Irish folktales; all woven and assembled  by hand in her Brooklyn studio. The textile portion of her jewelry uses ethically sourced cotton or silk that she hand dyes with onion skins, turmeric and other vegetable materials. Metal pieces are made from recycled or repurposed brass, making uniquely striking but soft compositions that wear beautifully and are especially perfect for Fall. Another thoughtful maker added to the family! Available in the store and online as well.

Patterns and Textures

Patterns and Textures

Amy Glenn came to us from Los Angeles with her shiny black hair and bags full of magical hand dyed fabrics. Using the softest, lightest fabrics you could imagine, she hand bleaches, tie-dyes or paints each piece to perfection, creating a range of shirts, scarves and ponchos (light and perfect layer pieces). All her pieces are created from found materials or shirts, infusing a comfortable sense of warmth and history into each one. We also have in a series of necklaces she’s created from 100 year old Ethiopian amulets which contain herbs and spiritual scripts for healing and guidance.

The Weird Ones

The Weird Ones

When I see people in the street with fancy jewelry covered in diamonds and such, I’m like a magpie. I love ALL good jewelry. But when I see people in beautiful, strange jewelry, I want to know who they are.  And when I’m out in the markets buying for the store, I get so excited when I come across an unusual piece that only that very specific client will love. Luckily, Love has a lot of these specific people, so often my fave pieces are gone from the store a little too quick for my taste. Here’s a selection of what we currently have in the case:
