Lou Zeldis

Love Adorned has lost someone very dear to its heart this week. Lou Zeldis, who has been a key designer for the Adorned family for many years, passed away.

How to even explain the loss of a man like Lou. A true outsider artist that created only by looking towards nature and his God. A man that plenty of people didn’t get, and plenty others relished in. A consumate story teller who lived a large life, a generous soul who supported the families of his workers around the world, and an absolute free spirit with no regrets. We will miss you Lou. There will never be another like you..

Lou was our beloved neighbor two doors down in our little industrial complex in Marina del Rey. I have had the privilege to collect many of his personal items to treasure and respect as he would have wanted them to be. His brother, Bill, has called and will be visiting us soon to reminisce.

In behalf of Lou’s high school classmates at Canadian Academy, Kobe, Japan, we all say farewell dear friend to whom our only regret is that we did not meet more often to continue our dialogue in life spent from the days of yore, present and future. We all would have been blessed with your presence as you were then. Take care as we continue our journey without you this time, but in spirit and mind you shall not be forgotten.

Lou was breath of fresh air at Canadian Academy! He and I were both dorm students in the early 1960’s. He brightened every meal with his humor, brought our cheerleading program to life, and taught us what it meant to be multiple-talented. I will remember him always.

so glad to have more of his work to see.
